My husband is such a gadget freak! He built his own computer, has a laptop and a netbook... what did he want for Christmas this year? A Kindle Fire, however, he already submitted his Christmas list and the 'big' item was already purchased. I've had to listen to him talk about this stupid Kindle Fire for a month. I was lucky if I made it a day without him mentioning it. I kept reminding him that he didn't put it on his Christmas list so we decided to use Christmas money to buy me a laptop and him a Kindle Fire.
My mom and I actually went in and had already bought him a Fire. I did my best to convince him I had bought him a pair of shoes he wanted, and that was my 'big' gift to him. I mean, I didn't come right out and say it but I had hinted so that he knew he would not be getting a Fire from me. I even went to far as to pick a mini fight with him because I don't have a single computer (hence my lack of blogging recently...) and he has THREE!!!
Christmas Eve we do presents with my family, and Pat had to sit there and watch not one, not two, but THREE people open a Kindle Fire right in front of him! Epic, totally epic. The car ride home was spent explaining to me how it was going to go buy a Fire on Monday, what was my electronics inept mother going to do with a Kindle Fire, and that tonight was totally unfair. I kept telling him our deal was that I had to get a laptop before he got another gadget, he let out a sigh and that was that.
This morning my parents and brothers and sister came over to open presents. Pat opened the largest package and it was a shoe box. He got the most excited look on his face and kept asking "What color? What color? Come on, what color did you get???" I just kept smiling, and as he opened the lid, reached in and pulled out his Kindle Fire the entire room burst into laughter! You see, it wasn't until after my mom and I bought the Fire that my grandma decided to buy 3 people them for Christmas, fully knowing Pat would have to sit in agony and watch and everyone else get his most wanted item!
As if that wasn't enough... everyone finished opening their presents and Pat had a confused look on his face and said that I needed one more present, that I was missing one. He walked in with a decent size box, the contents of which, was indeed, my laptop! Love that we pranked each other! Seriously, our best married Christmas so far!

The 2 P's
Photoshop & Pinterest are my addictions!
Recently I created our Christmas cards:
Nothing too fancy yet. Mainly I've just been playing around with brushes and fonts, because right now I just don't have time to figure out how to edit my own pictures. I've also created 2 shower invitations, but I can't show them just yet... I've seriously considered perfecting this and possibly selling them on Etsy, but then I quickly realize that I honestly don't have the time.
Some of my Pinterest crafts:
Our house is finally completely painted so I can finally start decorating! We have a few small things to do and then the cabinets and floor and the main floor will be DONE! Then, it's on to the basement!

more for me
Kimber-lena,
I feel like I haven't written to you in ages! You sure have been keeping me busy! I cannot even begin to describe the joy you bring to my life. I feel like my life has the most amazing purpose now, to be a mother to you, and what more could I possibly ask for?
You definitely have a strong personality (can't imagine where you would of got that from!) and are a bit stubborn at times. You know where your snacks are hidden and 'ask' for them frequently by banging on the dishwasher, however, you don't want to eat them... you just feed them to the dog and then 'ask' for more. You are impatient, again an attribute from me, and can't wait more than five seconds before a meltdown begins. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be not to be able to communicate!
Speaking of communicating... I've gotten pretty good at reading your mind. I wish you'd start talking! You say momma, dada, hi dada, hi, bye, go, dog, and the most recently added word *drum roll please* NO! It actually makes me laugh because you just wander down the hall saying 'no' for absolutely no reason at all. Pretty darn cute!
You've started a new game where you'll hit me and then immediately give me a hug. It totally reminds me of the Sour Patch Kids commercial: First they're sour... Then they're sweet. I giggle on the inside every time you pull this new trick. Hey, at least you realize you should make up for the hitting part, right? You love Sesame Street, The Wiggles, and Barney but I can really only tolerate Sesame Street :) Anytime you hear a song you always start dancing! You are way into books and blocks. I'd say those two things are by far the most played with items in our house... along with mommy's Tupperware!
Because of you, I actually enjoy mornings now. I love walking into your room while you babble and turn to me as I enter and say 'hi' in your cute little voice! I love our Tuesday and Thursday afternoon naps together. Nothing is better than snuggling up with you! I love how animated you are and how you laugh with your entire body. You got a baby for your birthday and now will walk around and pat it and give it hugs. Cutest. Thing. Ever. Is that a hint that you want to be a big sister?
You make me see the world in an entirely different light. You make everything worth it. I love seeing glimpses of how you see the world, and how everything is new to you. You are amazing, plain and simple, and I don't know how I got to be so lucky as to be your mom!
Love - Mom

Life Milestones Captured
It's amazing how one person has captured the biggest moments in my life. I can't exactly put my finger on what it is about her pictures, but I will say that Jodi takes the best pictures I've ever seen!

I know, I know...
Not sure how long it's been since my last post, but a few weeks ago my dear husband made a comment that it's been a while... There's been a lot going on lately so I'll just catch up for now with pictures!
See, we've been busy :) Maybe I'll eventually get better at this blogging thing. I have lots of crafty projects I want to try too, so maybe I'll get crackin on those and share the outcomes... good and bad because I have a feeling not all of them will turn out ;)
First stop, the pumpkin patch!
We've also taken her to a corn maze.
One weekend we took her to the duck club to see Papa. She loved the 4-wheeler!
Next up is a trip to Boo at the Zoo. We had her all dressed up in her skeleton pj's!
Then it was Halloween, where she wore a home-made ghost costume :)
Uncle Jon and Rae came in town so we hit up the carousel.
The next day we went to the City Museum.
